His excellence in the field of Real Estate has been recognized by various specialized publications, such as Best Lawyers, Chambers & Partners, and The Legal 500 Latin America, which have highlighted him as one of the leading and most influential lawyers in the area in Argentina.

Since 1995, he has represented international clients in negotiating turnkey contracts for power generation, gas pipelines, gas fields, industrial plants, equipment construction, and plant maintenance agreements, both in the Argentine Republic and across Latin America. He has also participated in negotiating financing structures for these projects. Among these, his role as the lead negotiator in the contracts for the Camisea gas project (Peru) stands out. Additionally, Alfredo has been involved in arbitrations both in Argentina and abroad related to his area of expertise.

Alfredo Vítolo is also a renowned specialist in Constitutional Law and Human Rights. He is a professor at the University of Buenos Aires and various other universities across the country, frequently invited as an expert witness by both chambers of the Argentine National Congress on matters within his field of expertise. He served as legal advisor to the Secretariat of Human Rights of the Ministry of Justice of the Nation, participating in the defense of the state before the United Nations Human Rights Committee, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.

The Argentine government nominated him to serve as Commissioner of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights for the 2019–2023 term. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars on topics within his area of expertise, both domestically and internationally. He is also involved in the Executive Committees of various associations dedicated to issues related to his field.

Education

Alfredo graduated with honors from the Faculty of Law at the University of Buenos Aires in 1985 and earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Harvard Law School in 1989. He was a Fulbright Scholar and a recipient of a scholarship from the Bunge and Born Foundation.
