Hernán Lopez Mazzeo

Profile

Hernán has extensive experience in investment funds and asset management companies. His expertise includes fund-of-funds (open-ended and closed-ended), segregated portfolio companies, and the structuring of direct investment vehicles, private equity, and venture capital. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with various entities in the creation and management of investment structures, offering in-depth knowledge in global asset management.

He began his career as an associate at Estudio O’Farrell, then worked as a foreign associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP in New York and at Morgan, Lewis in London. More recently, he was a partner at Estudio Bosch Abogados in Buenos Aires, Argentina, consolidating his specialization in investment and structured financing. He holds a Law degree from the University of Buenos Aires (1994) and a Master’s degree in Law and Economics from the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (2000), where he also completed a postgraduate degree in History in 2016.

Currently, Hernán is the Director and General Counsel of Antarctica Asset Management Ltd., a fund management company with a presence in London, New York, Tortola (British Virgin Islands), Hong Kong, and Geneva. He is also the Director of Antarctica Private (BVI) Ltd., a company focused on venture capital and private equity. His investment fund experience includes legal supervision, initial structuring, and execution of transactions across various jurisdictions, with a focus on marketing and compliance in regulated markets in Europe, the UK, and Asia.

Locally, Hernán has focused his practice on public offerings of negotiable securities, financial reorganizations, cross-border acquisitions in the LATAM region, and general corporate practice, providing strategic solutions in complex legal and financial environments.
