Profile

María has extensive experience in corporate law, providing comprehensive legal advice to companies on all aspects related to their activities, with a particular focus on corporate and contractual matters.

She has participated in a large number of mergers and acquisitions transactions, both local and international, as well as in numerous corporate reorganizations, including mergers and spin-offs. She has assisted major clients in the negotiation and drafting of shareholder agreements.

In addition, she has developed a specialization in antitrust law, particularly in managing filings that require prior approval from competition authorities, covering both domestic and cross-border transactions. She also specializes in corporate matters related to the insurance and reinsurance business.

She is recognized for her expertise in the insurance market, with extensive regulatory knowledge in the field. She advises numerous insurance companies and AVIRA, the association representing the leading life and retirement insurers in the country.

She is a member of the International Bar Association and currently serves as a professor in the subject “Banking and Insurance Legislation” in the Master’s program in Business Law at ESEADE.

Education

She graduated as a lawyer from the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina “Santa María de los Buenos Aires” in 1989, obtaining the Diploma of Honor. In 1992, she completed a postgraduate course in “Corporate Issues and Capital Markets” at the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires.

Awards

She received the “Editorial El Derecho” Award in 1989 and has been recognized as a “Leading Individual” in the areas of Corporate/M&A, Insurance, and Antitrust by the international publication Chambers & Partners. She was invited by the Argentine Insurance Committee to participate as a speaker at the “First National Conference on Justice and Insurance.”
